This position is initially a pro-bono volunteer role. However, we are actively working to secure funding to make this our first paid position at $27 USD per hour. While we don’t have a specific timeline for securing funding, we want to be transparent and upfront: this process may take time, and unfortunately, funding restrictions mean backpay won’t be possible. Currently, everyone at Victory Afghanistan is a volunteer, and this role represents an exciting milestone in our journey to grow and sustain our mission. About Victory Afghanistan In September 2021, girls in Afghanistan above the 6th grade were banned from attending school. This heartbreaking policy has left 80% of Afghan girls and young women out of school, many of whom never had the chance to start. In July 2023, four Afghan women from around the world founded Victory Afghanistan, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Chicago, to bridge this gap. Through interactive remote English and mentoring classes, we provide young Afghan women with a lifeline, equipping them with the knowledge and skills they need to break free from isolation and access new opportunities. Current Reach: Students Enrolled: 551 girls Waitlist: Over 1,200 girls Age Range: 11 to 40 years old Teachers and Mentors: 50 volunteers from 11 countries Victory Afghanistan is committed to long-term, generational change, modeled on development plans from countries like India and China. Preferred Experience Education Administration: Experience managing student records or onboarding teachers.
