Volunteer Grant Procurement Specialist Needed for Haitian Heritage House! Haitian Heritage House, a nonprofit organization in Trenton, NJ, is seeking a dedicated Volunteer Grant Procurement Specialist to support our mission of preserving and promoting Haitian cultural heritage. In this role, you will help identify and secure funding through grants, ensuring the sustainability of our vital programs, including a cultural community festival planned for May 2025, as well as wellness and community empowerment initiatives that celebrate Haitian heritage. Responsibilities: Grant Research and Identification - Research potential grant opportunities from foundations, government agencies, and other funding sources. - Maintain a database of funding opportunities with deadlines and application requirements. Proposal Development - Assist in drafting, editing, and submitting grant proposals tailored to funding opportunities. - Gather necessary documents and information to support grant applications. - Note: We have a great deal of this information already prepared. Fund Tracking and Reporting - Support the preparation of grant progress reports for funders. Relationship Building - Assist in building and maintaining relationships with funders. - Represent Haitian Heritage House professionally in all communications. Special Projects - Collaborate with the team on initiatives to secure funding for the cultural festival, wellness programs, and other community-driven projects. Ideal Volunteer We are looking for someone who: - Is detail-oriented, organized, and proactive. - Has excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Is comfortable researching and synthesizing information. - Is passionate about cultural preservation and community empowerment. - Has prior experience in grant writing and/or fundraising.
