Volunteer Fund Development & Communications Consultant Organization: Kintsugi Legacy Location: Remote/Hybrid Type: Volunteer (Consultant) Commitment: Flexible Hours - 5 to 10 hours per week Reports to: Board of Directors About Us Kintsugi Legacy is a newly-founded organization dedicated to providing grief education and support to individuals and families. Our mission is to foster healing by creating resources and platforms for conversations on grief and loss. We are a small but passionate team, and we're looking for skilled professionals who share our vision of empowering others through education and compassionate support. Role Overview We are seeking a dedicated Volunteer Fund Development & Communications Consultant to help shape and implement our fundraising and communication strategies. As a new non-profit, your expertise will be invaluable in building strong relationships with donors, raising awareness, and securing essential funds to support our programs. Key Responsibilities Fund Development: Develop and execute a fundraising strategy: Collaborate with leadership to design and implement a fundraising plan, including major gifts, grants, individual donations, and corporate sponsorships. Grant Writing: Identify and apply for relevant grants, draft proposals, and manage relationships with grantors. Donor Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with donors through personalized communications, regular updates, and recognition programs. Fundraising Events: Assist in planning and executing virtual or in-person fundraising events to engage the community and generate revenue. Communications: Brand and Messaging Strategy: Help define and refine our brand voice, key messages, and communication strategies across platforms. Content Creation: Develop compelling content for newsletters, social media, blogs, and website updates that align with our mission and engage supporters. Social Media Management: Grow our social media presence by creating and scheduling content, engaging with the online community, and analyzing engagement metrics. Public Relations: Draft press releases, manage media outreach, and build relationships with relevant media outlets to raise awareness of our work. Collaboration: Work closely with the Board of Directors to align fundraising and communications efforts with the organization’s mission and goals. Provide regular updates and reports to the Board on fundraising progress and campaign performance. Qualifications: Experience in fund development, grant writing, and communications, particularly within non-profits or community-based organizations. Strong writing and storytelling skills, with an ability to craft compelling narratives for diverse audiences. Familiarity with donor management and CRM systems (a plus but not required). Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail and deadlines. Passion for the non-profit sector and a commitment to our mission of grief education and support.
