Mission Statement
Wisconsin Wetlands Association is dedicated to the protection, restoration, and enjoyment of wetlands and associated ecosystems through science-based programs, education, and advocacy. We envision a state where wetlands are healthy and plentiful and support ecological and societal needs and where citizens care for, appreciate, and interact with these natural resources.
Description
WWA was formed before the Clean Water Act, before the development of most policies protecting wetlands, and before the values of wetlands were at all understood and acknowledged. From the beginning, WWA has promoted the use of the best science in protecting, restoring, and caring for our wetlands. Our membership includes landowners, community advocates, hunter/anglers, paddlers, and people from all walks of life in communities across Wisconsin.
Since the beginning, WWA has been providing a science-based voice for wetlands throughout the state of Wisconsin. We work with local governments, private landowners, communities, wetland scientists and practitioners, governmental and non-profit organizations, and all others who care about wetlands. We promote wetlands as solutions to the water and water-related issues facing communities in Wisconsin.
