Join Our Canvas of Care Program - Enrich the Lives of the Elderly Through Art The Cynthia F. Blaizes Foundation is looking for talented, compassionate artists who are fluent in Korean, Spanish, Mandarin, or Cantonese to guide our Canvas of Care program. It is a monthly paint-and-sip session designed for seniors in various Adult Day Health Care Centers throughout Central Los Angeles. Program Overview: The Canvas of Care program offers a creative outlet for seniors, providing a relaxing and enjoyable space where they can express themselves through art. The Artist will lead group painting sessions (2-3 hours), fostering a sense of connection and accomplishment among participants. The sessions are not just about creating art; they’re about creating a supportive and engaging environment where seniors feel valued and understood. What We’re Looking For: Fluency in Korean, Spanish, Mandarin, or Cantonese - Must be able to communicate clearly with seniors in their native language. Artistic Skills - Previous experience in leading art classes or working with diverse groups of people is a plus! Compassionate Heart - We’re seeking individuals who genuinely care about enriching the lives of seniors, showing patience, kindness, and respect for their life experiences. Reliable Transportation - Must be able to travel to various locations in Central Los Angeles. Independence & Teamwork - Ability to guide the painting class independently, while collaborating with facility coordinators to ensure a smooth experience for the seniors. Program Commitment: Monthly Sessions - We are seeking volunteers who can commit to one session per month (2-3 hours per session) for 6 months to 1 year. Locations - With our partnered Adult Day Health Care Centers and Assisted Living Facilities in Central Los Angeles. Starting Date - January 13, 2025. We Provide: All Painting Materials - We supply everything you need for the class, including canvases, paints, brushes, aprons, etc. Why Volunteer with Us? What's Required: Volunteers with Fluency in Korean, Spanish, Mandarin, or Cantonese - Must be able to communicate clearly with seniors in their native language. Good Reading/Verbal Skills - Must be able to read and translate well! Program Commitment: Weekly Sessions - We're looking for volunteers who can commit to one session per week (1.5-2 hours per session) for a 6-month to 1-year period. Locations - Various Adult Day Health Care Centers and Assisted Living Facilities in Central Los Angeles. Starting Date - January 13, 2025.
