AccentCare Hospice is seeking compassionate volunteers in East County to help brighten the lives of our patients. Do you live in El Cajon, La Mesa, Lemon Grove, Santee, or the surrounding area? AccentCare is looking for licensed hair stylists and massage therapist volunteers to positively impact the lives of hospice patients and family members. Hair stylists offer hospice patients a much-needed service, bringing comfort and dignity to individuals facing the end of life. Patients unable to leave their home benefit from the kind act a hair stylist can provide by giving patients a boost of self-esteem and offers a moment of normalcy during a challenging time. Complimentary therapies such as Massage and Reiki can offer benefits to hospice patients, including pain reduction, help with sleep, and decreased anxiety enhancing overall well-being, and improving the quality of life for patients and their families. Our direct care volunteers visit with patients wherever they call home to provide volunteer services. Even if you only have a few hours a month to give, we would be honored to have you join our team and support our mission of offering compassionate, personalized hospice care. Training is free and flexible to fit your schedule, and you can choose what area you want to serve. Whether you are a professional guitarist, pianist, singer, or sing for enjoyment, your love for music can positively impact the lives of hospice patients and family members. AccentCare Hospice, formerly Seasons Hospice, serves patients and families in your area. We are currently seeking volunteers to provide music companionship to our patients and their loved ones. Our direct care volunteers visit with patients wherever they call home to provide companionship and socialization. Music companionship volunteers share their musical talents; however, you do not need to be a professional in the field of music to volunteer! Even if you only have a few hours a month to give, we would be honored to have you join our team and support our mission of offering compassionate, personalized hospice care. Training is free and flexible to fit your schedule, and you can choose what area you want to serve. Are you fluent in Spanish? AccentCare Hospice is seeking compassionate bilingual volunteers in La Mesa, El Cajon and National City areas to improve quality of life for individuals who are facing a life limiting illness. Volunteers enrich the lives of patients by providing emotional support and companionship for the patient and their families within their home residence. We are looking for compassionate visitors with fluency in English and Spanish with a passion to give back to the community. Volunteers can help patients through compassionate listening, reading, playing music, making crafts, helping patients make a legacy project, watching movies, and so much more. Volunteers also help bring comfort to the family by being an understanding presence. Compassionate visitors or Direct Patient Care Volunteers have direct patient contact and will need to complete volunteer training, successfully pass a background check, and complete a TB Test/health assessment. Background checks and TB Tests/health assessments are paid for by AccentCare. Direct Patient Care Volunteers need to be 18 years or older. Do you live in Oceanside, Carlsbad, Cardiff-by-the-Sea, Del Mar or the surrounding area? Hospice patients benefit from volunteers in the community. Whether you are playing music for our patients, praying with them, reading with them, conversing, making supportive phone calls to bereaved families, or sewing memory bears, you can make a difference in the lives of hospice patients. While you are brightening our patients’ lives you might find that your life becomes brighter too! AccentCare Hospice, formerly Seasons Hospice, serves patients and families throughout San Diego County. We are currently seeking new volunteers to provide a wide variety of services to our patients and their loved ones. Our direct care volunteers visit with patients wherever they call home to provide companionship and socialization. Music companions use the power of music to enhance the quality of our patients’ lives. Spiritual companions share their faith with patients of the same religious background and complement the services of our chaplains. Legacy project volunteers assist patients and families with creating meaningful projects to honor the patients’ life. Vigil volunteers provide supportive presence at the bedside of patients who are actively dying. These are just a few of the ways volunteers in our organization support our patients, families, and staff. Even if you only have a few hours a month to give, we would be honored to have you join our team and support our mission of offering compassionate, personalized hospice care. Training is free and flexible to fit your schedule, and you can choose what area you want to serve. Students ages 15 and up are encouraged to join us as indirect volunteers or can buddy with another trained volunteer (teen or adult) to make in-person visits to patients in facilities.
