Position: Nonprofit Accountant Location: Remote Employment Type: Part-Time About Us: Delta Rising Foundation accelerates science-based systemic solutions as we evolve the art of sustainable culture. We work on indigenous-led, indigenous-owned carbon and biodiversity projects and to increase green infrastructure in communities with low climate resilience. We are seeking a skilled Accountant to join our team and ensure the accuracy and compliance of our financial records. Job Summary: The Nonprofit Accountant will play a key role in managing the organization’s financial records, ensuring compliance with non-profit tax requirements, and preparing the IRS 990 long form as well as the CA Attorney General forms RRF-1 and CT-TR-1. The ideal candidate will bring experience in nonprofit accounting, financial reporting, and tax filings. A CPA certification is preferred but not required. Key Responsibilities: - Prepare and file the IRS 990 long form, CT-TR-1, RRF-1, and any other required tax documents for the organization such as FTB reporting (which can consist of a copy of the IRS 990 short or long form) - Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including budgets, grants, and donations - Ensure compliance with non-profit financial regulations and tax laws - Assist with financial reporting, audits, and the preparation of financial statements Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience. - 2+ years of experience in accounting, 1y preferably within the nonprofit sector - Experience in preparing and filing IRS 990 long forms - Strong knowledge of non-profit tax regulations and financial management - CPA certification is preferred - Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Wave, Xero, etc.) - Excellent organizational and communication skills - Attention to detail and the ability to work independently How to Apply: Interested candidates should submit their resume and a 3-4 sentence email outlining their experience with nonprofit accounting and IRS 990 filings to Sarah.Deamer@deltarisingfoundation.org Delta Rising Foundation is an equal opportunity employer. Position Overview: We are seeking two passionate and skilled Volunteer Grant Writers to become our Grant writing Team. You will play a crucial role in helping us secure funding to support our programs and initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in nonprofit work, grant writing, and regenerating our world. Key Responsibilities: Research and identify potential grant opportunities that align with our mission. Write, edit, and submit grant proposals to foundations, corporations, and government entities. Collaborate with our team to gather necessary data, reports, and information to support grant applications. Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and ensure timely submissions. Provide regular updates on the status of grant proposals and opportunities.
