Mission Statement
La Crosse Jail Ministry offers residents and former residents of the jail spiritual direction, rehabilitative support, and connections to faith communities.
Description
We are looking for volunteers for our Circles of Support Program that matches 3 to 4 people with a person transitioning out of incarceration (core member). These circles then:
- Creates an environment of support
- Provides compassionate relationships
- Helps the person establish goals to live up to their potential and live a purposeful life as a productive citizen
- Offers practical advice
- Encourages problem solving
- Points to resources
- Supports goals
- Meets weekly in an informal setting for up to 6 months

Circles can be made up of a variety of people from a variety of backgrounds and faiths. It can also be made-up of a group from the same faith who are then helping someone who wants to pursue that faith.
