Mission Statement
The Practice Space’s mission is to build confidence and community through communication skill development to advance equity, create inclusive environments, and elevate systematically marginalized voices. As an educational nonprofit, we develop communication and facilitation skills through programs, professional development, curriculum, and coaching. We work with youth in grades K-12, educators, families, and professionals, meeting them where they are, in their schools, workplaces, and communities, to unleash their leadership potential and build thriving communities.
Description
Founded in 2017, we are a women of color-led nonprofit rooted in the Iron Triangle of Richmond, CA. We have served more than 3000 participants of all ages in the SF Bay Area and beyond. We offer inclusive and accessible educational content to build oral literacy skills, including curriculum and coaching for educators as well as for nonprofits and companies. Our award-winning direct service programs help young people own the power of their voices through speech and debate so they can feel brave enough to speak as they navigate an inequitable world. Ultimately, we envision a world where diverse communities of youth and adults feel capable, cared for, and free.
