As a board member, you will play a critical role in guiding the strategic direction of our nonprofit organization, which is dedicated to raising domestic violence awareness, supporting survivors, and promoting healthy relationships in our community. Key Responsibilities: Provide governance and oversight of the organization’s mission, strategy, and financial health. Participate in board meetings, strategic planning sessions, and committee assignments. Offer leadership, advice, and expertise to ensure the sustainability and growth of the organization. Help identify and cultivate partnerships, donors, and resources to support the organization's initiatives. Act as an ambassador for Love without Violence, Inc., helping to spread awareness and promote its mission in the community. Assist in the development and evaluation of programs and services. Contribute to fundraising efforts, including attending events and supporting grant initiatives. Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards and practices. Qualifications: A commitment to domestic violence awareness and survivor support. Prior board experience or a background in nonprofit leadership, finance, legal, marketing, fundraising, or social services is a plus. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to commit to 10 - 15 hours per month. Experience with fundraising, donor relations, or grant writing is an preferred but not required. The Event Committee Member will play a crucial role in planning, organizing, and executing events that align with our mission and goals. This volunteer position offers an opportunity to contribute to meaningful causes, engage with the community, and develop skills in event planning and coordination. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with the Event Committee Chair and other members to brainstorm, plan, and execute events. Assist in identifying and securing venues, vendors, and sponsorships. This role involves creating compelling content for our website, social media, and outreach materials, as well as writing and submitting grant proposals. The ideal candidate will have a passion for our mission, a talent for writing, and the ability to convey our message effectively to both donors and the public. Key Responsibilities: Research, draft, and edit grant proposals to secure funding from foundations, corporations, and government sources. Collaborate with the executive team to gather information for proposals and reports. Create and edit content for newsletters, website copy, press releases, and social media posts to raise awareness about domestic violence and the organization’s impact. Assist in maintaining a grant calendar to track application deadlines and reporting requirements. Develop impact stories that highlight success stories and the work of Love without Violence, Inc. Work closely with the marketing and communications team to align messaging and ensure consistency across platforms. Stay updated on grant writing best practices and relevant funding opportunities. Qualifications: Excellent written communication skills with the ability to write clear, compelling, and persuasive content. Prior experience in grant writing, journalism, content creation, or nonprofit communications is a plus. Ability to research and organize data to build compelling cases for funding.
