Volunteer Director - Jayva’s Love Foundation Inc. Position Title: Volunteer Director Organization: Jayva’s Love Foundation Inc. Location: Marion, In/ Remote Type: Volunteer -Part-Time Organization Overview: Jayva’s Love Foundation Inc. is a startup nonprofit dedicated to supporting grieving parents by providing temporary memorial markers for children under the age of 21 who have passed away. We believe that every child deserves to be remembered and honored, and we work tirelessly to ensure that families can memorialize their loved ones without the burden of financial stress. Position Overview: As the Volunteer Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Jayva’s Love Foundation Inc. You will be responsible for leading the organization, building relationships with stakeholders, and driving our mission to support bereaved families. This role requires passion, dedication, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a small but committed team. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Vision: Provide strategic leadership to the organization, setting goals and guiding Jayva’s Love Foundation Inc through its early growth stages. Fundraising & Development: Develop and execute fundraising strategies, including grant writing, donor cultivation, and organizing fundraising events. Program Management: Oversee the application process for families in need, ensure the delivery of headstones, and manage relationships with suppliers and partners. Community Outreach: Build partnerships with local organizations, funeral homes, and community groups to expand the nonprofit’s reach and impact. Volunteer Recruitment & Management: Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to assist with various aspects of the organization’s operations. Financial Oversight: Work with the board to manage the budget, track expenses, and ensure financial transparency. Public Relations & Advocacy: Serve as the public face of the organization, speaking at events, managing media relations, and advocating for families who have lost children. Board Development: Collaborate with the board of directors to set strategic priorities and ensure effective governance. Required Qualifications: Passion for the Mission: Deep empathy for grieving families and a strong commitment to supporting them through their loss. Leadership Experience: Previous experience in leadership roles, particularly within the nonprofit sector, is preferred. Fundraising Skills: Experience in fundraising, including grant writing, donor relations, and event planning. Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to inspire and engage others. Organizational Skills: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Networking Ability: Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to connect with diverse stakeholders. Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with volunteers, board members, and community partners. Desired Qualifications: Experience in bereavement support or working with grieving families. Knowledge of the funeral or memorial industry. Familiarity with nonprofit governance and financial management. Time Commitment: This is a part-time, volunteer position with a flexible schedule.
