Mission Statement

VIDAS provides trauma-informed legal and community advocacy to asylum seekers, immigrants and farmworkers in the North Bay.

Description

Attaining immigrant legal status can mean the difference between family unity or separation, prosperity or poverty, and even life or death. As retired Immigration Judge Dana Marks explains, removal cases are "death penalty cases in a traffic court setting."

While community members are at least five times more likely to remain safely in this country if they have an attorney, only 30 percent of people facing deportation are currently represented by an attorney in the United States.

We're working to change that.

Our staff of majority bilingual, first- and second-generation immigrants from all over the world offer life-changing competent and compassionate immigrant legal representation and wellness programs to Sonoma, Solano, and surrounding counties.

These efforts would not be possible without the support of our community. Together, we can create a safer, more just, and equitable north bay for all.
