With the rains the salmon are choosing the stream where they will complete their life cycle. Have you seen salmon in McSorley Creek? What do you know about salmon? It’s a very important time that only happens now! Volunteer to help count and monitor salmon returning to McSorely creek. It’s an awesome fishy activity! Introduction online webinar September 26th at 6:30pm-8:30pm. Learn about the salmon cycle, how to recognize different species,mating behavior and more! Orientation/Training October 5th from 10am-11:30am. Location: at the Creek Shelter" in the lower parking near the pedestrian footbridge and the Stone Salmon Kiosk. What to bring, Dress for the weather, Optional: notepad and pen, boots, gloves. We will be walking the creek so a walking stick is most useful. Requirements: RSVP FriendsSaltwater.org events Attend introduction and orientation or make other arrangements with us. Volunteers work as a team of two walking a section of the creek, collecting data. It takes about an hour and a half with a frequency of once week from October until the salmon finish in December.
