Description

Guardian ad Litem Volunteers are community members, paired with an Attorney Advocate, who are trained to advocate on behalf of children involved in Abuse/Neglect/Dependency Court. GAL's are appointed by a District Court Judge to investigate the child's situation and make recommendations to the court as to what is in the child's best interest and promote permanency. All pre-service training is provided using National CASA/GAL curriculum. Application, background and reference checks along with interview are required prior to admission into pre-service training.
