Sponsor a Child Project Imagine a community where children stop attending school simply because their families cannot afford tuition fees or basic learning materials. This is the daily struggle for many children in Kyani and Kitaale villages. Civicom Aid, a trusted international NGO working in these marginalized villages, is committed to finding practical solutions to help these children. The Sponsor a Child project aims to support 30 out-of-school children and those at risk of dropping out by the end of 2025. The project will reconnect these children with education by directly addressing the financial barriers that keep them away from school. Through sponsorship, we can help these children build a better future. Business Challenge The main challenge facing the Sponsor a Child project is identifying and securing reliable individuals, organizations, and funders who are willing to support the children’s return to school and not drop out. The project needs focused research to find potential sponsors or fundraisers. Without this support, the affected children may never return to school, increasing their chances of living in long-term poverty. Expected Deliverables The expected volunteers will contribute to the success of this project through the following deliverables: Research and Partnership Mapping Identify potential sponsors, donor organizations, and fundraisers that align with the project’s goals. Sponsor Engagement Strategy Develop simple, practical email text to reach out to potential sponsors and encourage them to support the project. Project Location The project will be carried out in selected communities across Kenya and Uganda, where Civicom Aid is already working. Remote participation is welcome, and the volunteers can support the project from anywhere. Why Civicom Aid Needs Support Civicom Aid has built strong community connections. However, this specific project needs additional support to reach more children and secure steady funding. With your help, we can give one or more children a chance to return school and improve their future. Learning Opportunity for the volunteer By working with Civicom Aid, the volunteer will gain practical experience in international development, global fundraising, and community-based project planning. The volunteer will also develop skills in partnership building and resource mobilization while working closely with a passionate, results-driven team. The Sponsor a Child project offers a meaningful opportunity to help children in need return to school and shape a brighter future. Interested individuals, companies, or corporations are encouraged to contact Jonathan Munyany at ceo@civicom.org or call/WhatsApp +254797946000 to schedule a remote introductory conversation.

Expected Deliverables As a Youth Pathway Program Liaison, the volunteer will deliver three key outcomes: First, they will help identify and connect with at least 1 potential supporter or a corporate partner who can donate laptop resources or funding. Second, they will assist in developing and sharing three impactful communication materials (such as email drafts, flyers, or social media posts) to raise awareness and drive engagement. Third, they will work closely with local teams to document and report youth stories and progress, helping inspire action and attract long-term commitment from supporters. These deliverables will directly support the goal of building strong pathways for young people to access education, training, and jobs. Ideal Project Time Commitment This role is designed to be flexible, yet meaningful. We recommend a time commitment of 5 to 8 hours per week, for a minimum of 8 to 12 weeks. This gives volunteers the opportunity to learn, engage deeply with the program, and see the impact of their work. Whether you can support us during evenings, weekends, or weekday hours, your time will make a real difference. Imagine being the reason a young person gets connected to a life-changing opportunity-all from the comfort of your home. Background of the Project and Why the Organization Needs Support The Youth Pathway Program was created to address the rising youth unemployment in underserved communities, especially in rural Kenya. Many young people have the potential but lack the direction, training, and mentorship needed to succeed. For example, in some villages, over 60% of youth are out of school or underemployed, with no access to career guidance. This program helps bridge that gap. We need passionate volunteers to help us expand outreach, connect with supporters, and share stories that move people to act. Your support will strengthen our ability to give these young people the hope and tools they need to succeed. Where Will the Project Take Place? The project will primarily take place remotely, allowing volunteers to contribute from anywhere in the world. However, the impact of your work will be felt directly in local communities across Kenya, especially in regions like Kyani and Kitalale villages, where resources are limited but the potential is high. With digital tools and regular communication, you’ll collaborate with our on-the-ground teams to ensure the program grows and reaches the youth who need it most.
