DIABETES YOU CAN WIN FOUNDATION INC

Description

Diabetes You Can Win Foundation (DYCW) is a community-based organization that visits at-risk communities weekly to provide screenings and health education. We believe health education is essential to winning the fight against diabetes and other chronic conditions. We offer free diabetes and nutrition classes virtually and in person at various locations in Metro Atlanta. We have two signature events each year; one is in November, which is a 5K walk, and the 2nd is in March, Diabetes Alert Day. The rest of the year, we support other organizations' events by providing our services at their health fairs and community events.

We offer classes for those living with Type 2 and Type 1 diabetes, Gestational diabetes, the CDC Diabetes Prevention Program, and hypertension education. The CDC has given us Full Plus Recognition for our CDC Diabetes Prevention Program based on our program outcomes

Our goal is to increase our capacity so that we can support more residents. To make that happen, we need all types of volunteers: clinical and non-clinical individuals, marketing, technical assistants, social media, and those who just want to help.
