Mt. Peak Pod School

Mt. Peak Pod School is a new education option coming to Tiffin, OH in August 2024. There is more than one kind of pod school. Mt. Peak Pod School is like a mini private school. We will be working with students grades K-2. Students will go through phonics, reading, math, and science/social studies rotations. Students will work with the teacher in small groups and at times one-on-one. When students are not working with the teacher they are doing center activities such as reading to self, reading to someone, listening to reading, word work, working on writing, counting club, online math games, and more. The focus is to give students an education that focuses on authentic tasks, problem-solving, and hands-on learning.

Student's families will need to pay tuition in order to fund the school's operation, including programing and payroll. It is a goal that in the future the school can offer scholarships, but this will not occur until August 2025. Another goal that may start this school year is to have community shares. This will be when people from the school or local community will come and talk with students and/or do activities with the students that help them see the diversity of their community and future career options.
