Do you have a therapy-trained dog that you know could brighten someones day? We are looking for volunters that have therapy-trained fur babies. Pet therapy is known to improve a patients mood, improve energy levels and help their self-esteem. Pet therapy can also help patients take their mind off of their pain and help encourage communication. Pet theraoy is also know to help reduce feelings of isolation, anxiety, depression and alienation. If you have a certified pet-therapy pet have been interested in becoming a volunteer, now is the perfect time.

The Administrative Volunteer provides support to office personnel through clerical and administrative functions. An administrative volunteer may assist with answering telephones, filing, making copies, data entry or helping to create admission packets. An Administrative Volunteer might help with compiling and mailing Bereavement letters, sympathy cards or the planning of the Annual Memorial Service. You will assist with assigned tasks, such as, but not limited to: Organizing and compiling admission packets Copying and filing Sending, receiving, and distributing faxes Assembling Volunteer Orientation manuals and in-service packets. We are looking for someone urgently to join our team and help us in the office. We will work around your schedule and would be very grateful for any hours you are able to enter for our hospice program. A great way to make a difference in your community.

The Direct Care Volunteer must possess the ability to actively listen and communicate compassionately with patients, families, and caregivers at the end-of-life. He/she has the ability to work as a team with family members and hospice staff. He/she must have the ability to respect patient/family belief systems, emotional maturity and sensitivity. Must be dependable and have access to reliable transportation. He/ she must have an understanding of Hospice philosophy and goals, and be willing to participate in peer support/ continuing education meetings on a regular basis. Activites c an include: Sharing a story, Holding a hand, Sending a card, Making Gifts, Reading Singing, Playing Games, Run Errands, Light Houseworking. Veteran to Veteran Support needed. All Direct Care Volunteers must be 18 years and be able to complete a Drug test, TB Test and Background Check.
