Mission Statement
FANM’s MISSION is to empower low to moderate income families socially, financially, and politically and to give them the tools to transform their communities. FANM's VISION is to be a leader in creating a sustainable village where thriving families can raise well-rounded children in peace and harmony.
Description
Family Action Network Movement (FANM) was founded in 1991 by Marleine Bastien. Since its inception, FANM has advocated for lower income and marginalized residents and provided them with wrap-around services such as mental health, crisis and domestic violence intervention, counseling, health care access, job training, financial literacy, adult education and after school programs. FANM also advocates and organizes its members around issues of importance including affordable housing, comprehensive immigration reform, and climate gentrification and equity. Since FANM expanded its scope and services to include all immigrant groups and low to moderate income families, it made the decision in 2018 to rebrand as Family Action Network Movement.
