Our volunteers are special people who choose to give their time, talents and energy to improve the lives of others. These dedicated individuals are a vital piece of the health care we provide to our patients and community. While giving comfort and compassion, volunteers benefit from the knowledge that they help others each and every day. We are grateful to our volunteers for the talents and experience they bring to our patients and their families.
PeaceHealth Oregon West Network (PHOWN) Volunteer Services is a highly structured program, with over 750 active, dedicated volunteers who donate over 70,000 hours per year.
Volunteers assist in nearly every area of the medical center and are often the first face you see when you enter the hospital.

All volunteers must be at least 18 years old and able to pass a criminal background check. In addition, all volunteers attend volunteer orientation, undergo a health assessment through employee health and purchase a volunteer vest or shirt.
All volunteers commit to a weekly four-hour shift for a period of at least six months.
