Mission Statement

To educate the general public concerning the introduction of observation hives; To assist local educational institutions in setting up and maintaining observation hives; To provide technical support to participating institutions; To support participating educators in developing related curricula; and To act exclusively for charitable, educational, scientific, or literary purposes, as defined under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 or any equivalent law, including but not limited to, the making of grants to organizations that are exempt under said Internal Revenue Code Section 501 ©(3).

Classroom hives started in 2012 by installing an observation beehive in a Boston Public Schools math class. The students loved learning about math and bees so much that we decided to use bees as a backdrop to learning. Our goals are to help sustain bees as they are subsepable to Varroa Mites and Colony Collaspe Disorder while we teach humans about the importance of bees to our very survival.
We currently have 6 hives in outdoor educational facilities, a museum. We also give educational talks about bees to schools and libraries.
