Being a volunteer in hospic e is very satisfying and rewarding! Companion volunteers can provide a plethora of activities to our patients, such as: -General companionship (sitting and having a conversation) -A weekly phone call to a patient -Playing card/board games -Reading books/poetry -Watching a movie/TV Show -Doing puzzles -Singing songs or playing music Zenith Hospice services patients in many areas throughout the Contra Costa County area and many more surrounding areas. Zen ith Hospice is looking for volunteers dedicated and compassionate about making a difference by providing companionship to our terminally ill patients. Zen ith volunteers conduct friendly visits with patients and help them in their daily lives by providing social visits, reading aloud, playing musical instruments, playing cards/games, watching television, caregiver relief, or just being a listening ear for them to tell their stories. Zen ith provides all training needed to be an effective volunteer by outlining our basic policies and procedures during our onboarding process. You can be sure that once you go on your first visit, you will be prepared. Requirements Include: Must be 18 y/o, background check, TB clearance, current driver’s license, current auto insurance, drug screening (excludes THC) (for those wishing to visit patients in person), a great attitude and a desire to make a difference. You can bring happiness to someone in need! At Bridge Hospice East Bay, we are looking for dedicated and compassionate volunteers to provide companionship for our patients. You can read a book, share stories, play music or games and take them out for a stroll in the garden. Spending time with hospice patients is such a heart warming experience. It is a wonderful way to give of your time and serve the patients during the end of life. Our hospice patients are located in skilled nursing and assisted living facilities and homes throughout Contra Costa county and the Tri Valley Area.
