Mission Statement
SNC is focused on building and growing community by engaging volunteers whose mission is to connect the unconnected. A free association of individuals dedicated to mutual aid, interconnections and empowering all to seek truth, justice and creative, sustainable, holistic solutions for our community and our world. Advocating for some of our most vulnerable citizens. Utilizing networks throughout the commUNITY To raise Awareness & Promote getting involved finding out what it’s all about. Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and increase communication/social/skills, empowering each other to do great things and create solutions. SOLIDARITY IN mutual aid is a voluntary reciprocal exchange of resources and services for mutual benefit. Mutual aid projects are a form of political participation in which people take responsibility for caring for one another and changing political conditions.
Description
Current projects needing volunteers:
Saturday Feed at Homeward Bound Resource Center - loading, unloading and distributing dry food pantry items, harm reduction distribution, cooks and servers for hot meal every 2nd Saturday, vehicles needed for transporting goods
Porta potties - partnership with the City of GJ - we need volunteers to maintain clean up at various porta potty sites
Our volunteer base consists of individuals, local groups, organizations, churches, businesses, schools, families and even those visiting from out of town for the Holidays. Before you complain, come volunteer.
SNC adheres to the following tenets:
1. All are welcome
2. All may volunteer and be a part of the SNC family.
3. Housing, food, water, and medical care are basic human rights
4. We strive to make all our projects sustainable and environmentally friendly
5. We are peaceful but support a diversity of tactics
