Brave Space Black Woman Will Bloom, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering Black women, is seeking a volunteer to join our weekly newsletter team. At Brave Space, we believe that every woman has the potential to become her best self, regardless of the challenges she has faced. Many of the women we serve are survivors of trauma and abuse, and our mission is to inspire and empower them through our newsletter. We are looking for a talented individual who can create compelling content that uplifts and motivates women. Your role will involve: - Crafting inspiring articles that touch on topics such as healing, self-care, self-love, trauma, abuse, and healthy coping skills. - Learning our CRM system to effectively send out emails and manage our subscriber list. - Collaborating with the newsletter team to ensure timely delivery of weekly newsletters. - Being self-motivated and committed to the cause of empowering women. While prior experience in newsletter creation is preferred, we are willing to train the right person. We only ask for 3-5 hours of your time per week, and as you become proficient in the tasks, it may require even less of your time. This opportunity is perfect for an intern or anyone passionate about empowering women and writing about topics related to personal growth and healing. We are a small nonprofit where we help women to be the ultimate versions of themselves no matter what adversities they've faced. We are currently seeking unpaid interns to assist our organization with securing grants for additional funding. We are seeking individuals who are comfortable with working independently as well as being motivated self-starters. This is a remote position so you can work from anywhere. We are seeking someone who is willing to work 5-7 hours per week. Please note that this is an unpaid internship but there are many possibilities for advancement as our organization is steadily growing. We also would like our interns to be mission-driven as our organization helps female survivors of abuse we hold several free support groups per week and we also offer women in Illinois free counseling. Grant Writer Responsibilities: Developing relationships and collaborating with key stakeholders. Displaying adherence to the organization’s mission. Maintaining proficient knowledge of the organization’s history and programs. Assisting with the execution of the development department's strategy. Identifying grant funding opportunities. Writing, submitting, and managing grant proposals. Furnishing prospective funders with supporting documents. Collaborating with Executive Director to send funders newsletters, and to promote on-site tours. Collaborating with Executive Director to compile an annual report. Maintaining records in hard copies and computer databases. Grant Writer Requirements: 2+ years of grant writing experience. Proficient with measuring and reaching income goals. Proficient with MS Office Word and Excel. Excellent knowledge of fundraising information sources. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong people skills. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to meet deadlines. At this time we do not have the capacity to train those who do not have any experience so we ask that you only apply if you have at least one year experience of grant writing. Position Summary: As a part-time bookkeeper, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing grant funds, and ensuring smooth financial operations. You’ll collaborate with other team members to support our mission and make a positive impact. Due to the nature of these responsibilities, this is a remote position, with 10 hours of work per week expected. Responsibilities: Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR): Process invoices, vendor payments, donations and reimbursements. Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing and collections. Reconcile credit card statements and resolve discrepancies. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions using Quick books Online. Conduct regular account analysis to identify discrepancies or errors. Assist with tax preparation and filing. Qualifications: Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role. Min 1 year bookkeeper experience required Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks Online. Strong knowledge of payroll processing and tax regulations. Familiarity with account reconciliation processes. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. We don't have the capacity or time to train a bookkeeper. At this time as the organization grows this role as the opportunity to turn into a fulltime paid position.

Are you ready to make a difference in the lives of women who have survived trauma and abuse? Join the team at Brave Space Black Woman Will Bloom, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support and empowerment to these brave individuals. We are currently seeking passionate and dedicated women of color (WOC) volunteers to lead our support groups. As our support groups continue to grow, we need more mission-driven volunteers to help us expand our services. Each support group session lasts for 1.5 hours, and we ask for a minimum commitment of one year to our organization. While we provide training for our facilitators, please note that if you decide to leave before the year is up, you will be required to reimburse us for the cost of the training. However, after completing a six-month probation period, you will have the opportunity to be paid for each support group session you lead. It's worth mentioning that many of our facilitators are survivors themselves, which brings an extra layer of understanding and empathy to our support groups. Responsibilities: - Facilitating weekly meetings for your support group - Moderating an ongoing group chat - Welcoming and onboarding new members, ensuring their needs are met - Leading and managing the group in a respectful and considerate manner - Upholding the values and principles of our organization - Providing meaningful content and support to group members during and outside of sessions - Contributing to initiatives that improve our programs and overall organizational development - Conducting intake calls to assess the needs of potential group members Requirements: - Experience in a mental health profession such as grief counseling, behavioral health specialist, relationship counseling, mental health/life coaching, social work, advocacy, crisis intervention, or a related field - Preferred qualifications include LPC/LMHC/LCSW/MSW/PsyD/PhD - Minimum of one year experience in facilitating support groups - Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a team - Strong clinical, interpersonal, and communication skills - Enthusiasm for contributing to the development of mental health services - Tech-savviness, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment - Availability during evening hours - Optional opportunity to work on weekends - Fluency in English - Ability to work remotely using your own computer and in-person If you are passionate about supporting survivors of trauma and abuse and meet the requirements mentioned above, we would be thrilled to have you join our team as a support group facilitator.
