Mission Statement

"To empower community members experiencing mental health and/or substance use concerns by providing peer support, connections to community resources, and encouragement to achieve personal goals in a safe and compassionate environment"

Description

Unlimited Alternatives is a Peer Run Drop-In Center whose mission is to empower community members experiencing mental health and/or substance use concerns by providing peer support, connections to community resources, and encouragement to achieve personal goals.

Peer-run drop-in centers across the state provide services to address the social and emotional needs of people in mental health and addiction recovery. The focus of a drop-in center is to help members increase their overall quality of life, decrease isolation, gain insight, and develop coping strategies to help manage their challenging circumstances.

The primary purpose of UA is to provide a safe and social atmosphere that will empower all members while instilling hope for a brighter future and creating opportunities for socialization, advocacy, and self-help. We aim to promote self-efficacy and provide opportunities for self-expression, education, socialization, and emotional support. Members are encouraged to exercise their self-determination, right to personal choice, dignity, and the right to enjoy community experiences. UA does not provide treatment but does provide a wide range of activities that will assist members in improving their quality of life and their ability to live in the community.
