To provide free childcare for young, single mothers while they attend school, or work to provide for their families. To empower women to finish their education and escape the poverty cycle.
Description
Kumbatia is a nonprofit based in Mombasa, Kenya. We started in 2021 as a place where young, single mothers could bring their babies while they attended work or school. When the babies turn 3 we find them sponsors and ensure that they are in school. We also help pay school fees and provide food and clean water for families in need in the community. In the past 3 years we have helped around 60 families. Currently we have 17 children in school, and another 12 at the daycare.
