Mission Statement
Since our founding days in 1633, the Daughters of Charity have followed St. Vincent de Paul’s direction of working and living among those we serve. The Daughters to move freely through the city, aiding the poor and addressing the most pressing issues of the day. Today, The Daughters of Charity continue this legacy and work in the streets, schools, and hospitals to help the poorest and most marginalized individuals.
Description
We are a small community of Sisters from the Daughters of Charity order, located in Albany near Siena College. Our campus will be evolving over the next several years to include lay people as our order is diminishing. As our Sisters age they are no longer able to continue the mission of helping others. The staff have identified a need for volunteers who have experience working with seniors. Providing friendly visits, offering support in the activity department, accompanying on trips to museums and other attractions. No spiritual background necessary as the "sisters are more than spiritually inclined".
