Description
The Minnesota Valley Chapter of the Izaak Walton League, originally founded as the Minneapolis Chapter, relocated in the 1960s to focus on the Minnesota River Valley's health. Our core values prioritize making conservation accessible and integral to daily life. We offer impactful programs like the award-winning Green Crew youth leadership and conservation service program, recognized nationally as the top youth program by IWLA. Green Summer camps engage youth in exploring the woods, learning environmental ethics, and participating in conservation projects. Our Kouba Gallery hosts monthly shows exploring the human relationship with nature. Notable achievements include our Board President in the IWLA Hall of Fame and our Executive Director of Youth Programming named top volunteer in 2023. Our youth program led a pioneering study for American Elm restoration and spearheads reforestation in Dutch Elm Disease-affected communities. Last year, our summer program engaged over 1000 youth in water science and Leave No Trace training. Join us in our mission to conserve, restore, and promote sustainable use of natural resources.
