Description

We organize tea gatherings and educational workshops in NYC parks, community gardens, and senior centers, which are accessible to historically marginalized communities. We aim to nurture a sense of community, interconnectedness, and belonging. In the summer of 2019, we host our first community tea event in Prospect Park to share their mutual appreciation for nature, art, and tea with the community and to uplift each other. This event eventually grew into a seasonal project called Nature Tea, which has been open to the public and sponsored by the Brooklyn Art Council since 2020. In 2021, we officially incorporated as a non-profit. In Spring 2021 during the pandemic, we partnered with GreenThumb NYC to provide Community Engagement Tea Programs, which expanded to serving community gardens in all 5 boroughs. These local events celebrate the unique cultures of each community. Also with GreenThumb, we offer a free year-long mentorship program that trains local community leaders on tea practices, enabling them to serve and support their community directly through sharing tea. Our Golden Tea Program provides multi-sensory social experiences to help seniors reconnect and enjoy each other's company.
