Mission Statement
Dream Big City: We aim to strengthen communities and reach the next generation by creating safe, fun, and inclusive environments that connect people through physical activities, creative arts, and music. Fam Jam: Year-round block parties throughout the city unite the community through skateboarding, basketball, games, music, art, and free food. All ages and people are welcome! Giving in PDX: Working with local non-profits, businesses, and big-hearted people throughout our city, we help under-resourced kids and teens have a wonderful holiday by giving them meaningful and generous gifts.
Description
Supported by donations and volunteer efforts we are entering our 4th year, we use social media and community ties to promote our events. Last summer, our weekly Fam Jams drew 350-550+ people per event over 20 events, including successful pop-ups at Burnside Skate Park and See See Motor Coffee. With future events at One Moto Show and our focus school Margaret Scott Elementary, we aim to engage underserved neighborhoods.
Our expansion relies on our network within the Portland skate and basketball communities and school partnerships. For example, we're planning events in the diverse Reynolds School District in East County, aiming to provide free, inclusive, and healthy activities.
Our model's success, bolstered by the support of organizations, local businesses and nonprofits . We're committed to broadening our impact, offering positive, inclusive opportunities to more communities.
