Mission Statement
Rescue. Rehabilitate. Release. We envision a Congo where primates are free from the dangers of the illegal bushmeat and pet trades, and where the victims of those trades receive the care they need before being returned to the wild. Through fund-raising and public awareness activities, Lwiro Primate Fund supports the awe-inspiring work of the Lwiro Primates Rehabilitation Center in the Democratic Republic of the Congo . Our mission is to raise sufficient funds to enable LPRC to succeed in its five-year plan to reintroduce chimpanzees and monkeys to the wild in a safe and healthful manner.
Description
Lwiro Primate Fund, Inc., is a registered 501(c)(3) charity. It serves as the U.S.-based fundraising partner for the Lwiro Primates Rehabilitation Center. The Fund is operated entirely by volunteers. We keep our costs as low as possible so that the funds we raise can be used where they are needed most: to help LPRC care for rescued chimpanzees and monkeys, and ultimately return them safely to the wild.
