Mission Statement
Our mission is to Promote Art, Culture and Music among Africans in Minnesota and beyond through meaningful community engagement. We envision a world where African voices in the diaspora resonate loudly and proudly, breaking barriers and connecting cultures by inspiring positive change. It is the dot connecting one to one’s roots through the universal language of music.
Description
Botangrecords: Building Community through Music and Culture
Born in Minnesota, Botangrecords fosters cultural connection and personal growth for African immigrants and their families.
- Traditional dance group "Ikong" unites young men through cultural expression.
- "Bo Tang Choir" welcomes women, men, and children to explore African music.
- Collaborative song "Woynkom America" celebrates heritage and supports charitable causes.
Recognizing challenges faced by youth, adults, and immigrants, Botangrecords seeks to:
- Offer a space for storytelling, empowerment, and belonging.
- Promote education, hope, and community integration.
- Encourage self-discipline, confidence, and talent exploration.
- Support individuals seeking employment and purpose.
Summer camps will provide education, social interaction, and skill development in arts, music, and culture.
Together, we build a stronger community, celebrating diversity and inspiring individual growth.
