Mission Statement
Addiction is Real’s (AIR) mission is to educate parents/caregivers about drug prevention and early intervention, encouraging a more proactive approach to preventing substance use and addiction among their children. With an increase in Fentanyl deaths among area youth - there has never been a more important time for the programming AIR provides.
Description
Differentiation
Unlike other substance abuse prevention programs AIR takes a unique approach to developing and delivering programming. Particularly appealing to and impactful for many communities is that people who work or volunteer for AIR had a child/loved one with significant substance use issues or has lost a friend or family member to addiction.
While young people are involved in our work as Student Ambassadors, our focus is on the prevention of drug use and abuse among children by offering schools, businesses, churches, community centers, festivals and other community-based organizations a turn-key addiction prevention programs that adults throughout the country be more educated and prepared to interrupt and prevent drug abuse in their homes and neighborhoods.
