Mission Statement

To support and further the fair trade movement, particularly by selling and promoting the work of artisans in developing countries globally and locally in the Pacific Northwest.

Description

Until 2023 we were part of the national fair trade organization, Ten Thousand Villages, which was started in 1946. In fall 2023, we became an independent nonprofit, Seattle Fair Trade, in part to better serve artisans in our local community as well as those in developing countries internationally. We are almost 100% volunteer run, with opportunities for learning about fair trade, retail experience both in-store and off-site, marketing, and organizing art and educational events. We also need volunteers to serve on our board.
