Mission Statement
Our mission is to enable single and vulnerable parents to partner together and share resources to ease the struggles that come with raising children alone. We aim to do this by building the largest network in the country dedicated just for parents, where they can find other parents in their area, meet them and build villages of support. We will also have a comprehensive library of resources for charities and organizations that parents can utilize in their areas to meet more pressing needs. By helping parents find those resources, as well as building communities of parents with whom they can share things like childcare, roommate shares, and other shared resources, parents can save time and money. And that means more quality time with their children.
Description
Our history is brief but we are quickly growing. We came together as a loose group of women in September of 2023, and incorporated as a charity in our state of South Carolina in October '23. We applied for our 501(c)(3) in November of '23, and was approved in record time - ten days later! We are eagerly getting our administrative ducks in a row, as well as exploring several opportunities for fundraising and applying for grants. We are planning for a small fundraiser in a couple weeks, a big fundraiser in the spring and another in the fall of '24 We are looking at corporate sponsorships to help fund the network as well. The network itself will be a platform similar to a dating website, with the goals of pairing parents with each other to see how they can share resources, instead of romantic interests. The network we are building is beginning January '23, and we hope it should be completed by the end of summer, '24. It will be a dedicated, off social media platform, where parents can have a dedicated space for themselves to post struggles and receive support. It is a $70,000 project, for which we are eagerly attempting to fund, on top of our other costs with our startup. We have received several big donations, including receiving a donation from our state hockey team and being featured in front of our city. For a start up, we are doing very well.
