Mission Statement
The mission of Weekend Backpacks is to improve the lives of students affected by food insecurity in Baltimore. We envision that all students are nourished and ready to learn.
Description
All Baltimore City schoolchildren are provided a free breakfast and lunch on school days. However, those experiencing food insecurity face the weekend without that same reliable access to food. Weekend Backpacks aims to bridge this gap by providing nutritious, child-friendly food to students and their families for the weekends.

They have a great system in place to help the most families. I enjoyed being able to help and the Alexandria was an excellent host.
