Mission Statement

Wildwood Forest Academy of Arts and Design’s mission is to educate a diverse student population, by encouraging them to observe and explore through their curriculum-based creative work and designs, while promoting opportunities for students to grow into productive leaders.

Description

Heroes Read is a program that began in three elementary schools in Wake County but now is in 9 schools. It is a reflection of a program that began 25 years ago in Oregon. The goal of the program is for students to develop a love a reading with the support of a weekly volunteer. Currently, the program provides over 1,000 books for students to choose to read on a weekly basis. Students are provided a book a week to take home to build their at home libraries!
