Mission Statement
Plaza Comunitaria Sinaloa empowers underserved communities through education and employment development. We aim to fill the educational gap among English language learners by providing equitable access to basic education in a nontraditional learning environment. We seek to impact the community at large by increasing the quality of life of individuals and their families.
Description
Entering its 5 th year of operation, Plaza runs its program(s) with the support of retired teachers. The goal is for participates to attain elementary and High School Education and receive the necessary skills to uplift themselves and fully contribute in our society. Students can directly apply their acquired skills by: participating in their children’s education, securing employment or promotions, and using the fundamental skills in their own language to achieve English literacy. All students are amongst the working poor, very low-income Latino community which ages range from 30 to 80, who have less than three years of formal schooling.
