Mission Statement
The mission of the Northwest Pennsylvania (NWPA) Medical Reserve Corps is to organize an all-volunteer group of medical and nonmedical professionals to assist in disaster response, community events, and public health activities. The NWPA MRC recruits, credentials, trains, and has a developed notification process, so that in a disaster emergency, our community and region is better prepared.
Description
The NWPA MRC is a local unit that is under the National Medical Reserve Corps. The NWPA MRC is a community based group of volunteers used to improve the health and safety of the community by supporting existing programs and resources. It is also unique as it serves multiple counties including Erie, Crawford, Forest, Venango, and Warren.
Our local unit has provided assistance with First Aid Stations at several community events such as Tall Ships Erie, provided large-scale vaccination clinics, as well as
conducted emergency preparedness awareness presentations in our community.
