Passionate Educators, Inc. was founded in 2022 to inspire and support both current and future generations of extraordinary teachers. High school seniors applying for the Deborah Hopkins Memorial Scholarship are evaluated on their vision of a future classroom environment that will engage and inspire students to achieve their fullest potential in terms of academic success, social/emotional resiliency, and civic character. The scholarship program is named for the late Deborah Hopkins; she inspired hundreds of children over her 30-year career with the Brunswick City School System. Grants for current teachers are solicited and evaluated on their objectives and innovative approaches. To date, eight Brunswick High School seniors have been awarded scholarships for a total of $13,000. This year we also awarded two teacher grants for a total of $700. Our near-term goals are to expand beyond the Brunswick School System and to offer renewal scholarship opportunities.
