Autism Included is looking for a grant writer to join our team! The Grant Writer will identify, define and develop funding sources to support existing and planned program activities as well as lead the development, writing, and submission of grant proposals to federal, state, and private funding agencies. Primary responsibilities include preparation of proposals and grant applications, and performance of responsible professional and administrative work in researching, identifying, developing and responding to public and private grant opportunities in areas that support Autism Included programs. We are looking for a passionate individual who is able to be self directed, reliable and motivated to be part of such an important cause. Responsibilities Researches and identifies new government, corporate, foundation and private funding prospects to match organization priorities Generates high-quality proposals, narratives, applications and supporting documents in response to solicitations consistent with all policies and procedures of Autism Included, and the requirements and guidelines of the funding agencies Generates revenues for Autism IncludedI programs through timely submission of well-researched, well written and well-documented grant proposals; Works with appropriate personnel to research, develop, write and submit letters of inquiry, concept papers and grant proposals Coordinates and follows-up on the progress of submitted proposals Inform staff and answer questions regarding allowability of proposed expenditures related to all specific grants Qualifications Reliable and self driven Highly organized Good communication skills Grant writing experience preferred Work environment This role can be remote but we strongly prefer someone in the US Eastern time zone. We typically meet on zoom to discuss goals, projects, and needs and check in on progress as needed. Most things can be done ad-hoc as long as there's good communication. As we grow and find new ways to serve our mission there will be a continued need for this skill in a number of contexts, website and brochure designs, social media branding and content visuals, continued development of our professional development training decks, marketing materials, etc. We are looking for a passionate individual who is able to be self directed, reliable and motivated to be part of such an important cause. Responsibilities Maintain and evolve organizational branding, themes, logos Assist with content creation such as brochures, flyers, infographics, training decks Assist with design and layout of different media Qualifications Reliable and self driven Highly organized Good communication skills Proven background with a graphic design skillset Work environment This role can be remote but we strongly prefer someone in the US Eastern time zone. Fundraising allows Autism Included to realize our mission, pay operating costs, develop educational programs and resources, and make improvements that can benefit so many lives! Currently the organization is funded largely through grants and direct services, leaving a large potential for funding unrealized. You will be a pivotal player in positioning the organization to make an even greater impact. We are looking for a candidate that is passionate and driven that can help us grow and set us up for continued success! This role is part of our Public Relations Committee which is led by Christopher Whittier, the Chair of the Board. Our team is small, collaborative, fun to work with and communicates often. We are here to empower you and provide support. Responsibilities Establish a diversified portfolio of donors, grants, and sponsorships to fund the Autism Included mission and programs Help establish best practices, processes and tools for fundraising efforts Attend committee meetings as needed (virtual) Grow the Fundraising Committee as needed to keep up with the growth and needs of the organization. Partner with the Board of Directors and other volunteer roles to set and execute on strategic initiatives. Qualifications Excellent communication skills - You will be building relationships, and representing the organization in both written and in person interactions, a cheerful and passionate demeanor will be key! Highly organized - You will work together with the Board of Directors on initiatives and will ensure that new engagements and progress are tracked and visible for updates and reporting. Experience in non-profit fundraising and pre-existing relationships with RI based donors is a huge plus! Work environment Candidate should be RI based. "Every day" responsibilities can be done remote. There may be opportunities that would be beneficial to pursue in person (attending an event, meeting with a potential donor or sponsor, etc), so please me open to those types of initiatives if required.
