Donate Essentials' magazine aims to improve health literacy a skill that currently 9 out of 10 adults in the United States lack according to the CDC. As the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Donate Essentials you will be contributing your skills to writing and editing articles for Donate Essentials' magazine, and publishing them onto our website. The main task of this position will be to edit blogs that will come through our site, and organizing them onto the magazine.

ESSENTIAL CARDS PROGRAM NEW VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY This project is making handmade cards for frontline workers (ie. doctors, nurses, etc.) to show our gratitude and appreciation for them. Cards made will be donated to local hospitals and emergency locations that we are partnered with. We are excited to see everyones creativity and kindness! PARTICIPATE TODAY! DEADLINE: This is year round program, so there is no deadline. SIGN UP HERE: https://forms.gle/dnwQxLNrNKoPJshE7 SUBMISSION PROCESS: 1) Fill out the hours' Google form to receive hours. 2) Upload a picture of the cards you make in the form of a pdf. Each person should only submit the Google form once at the end of the project after they are done making the cards. SERVICE HOURS: To receive service hours fill out this form: https://forms.gle/aVspsrXtPWtZ8feLA [Organize your cards at the end of the time and you will receive 1 hour for each handmade card that you donate Take a wide angle pic from the top of all the cards that you have (ensure that they can fit in one picture) after you are done making all your cards] MAILING: Put the cards in your own envelope (more than 1 card can fit in 1 envelope). Please write your name and your own home address for the return address SUPPLIES: DO NOT use anything that will fall off or create health concerns NOTE GUIDELINES: - No last name or identifiable personal information. - Minimum of 3 lengthy sentences, 4 pictures, and 4 different colors per card - No religious sayings inside the cards as they will not be accepted by hospitals including (i.e. "I’m praying for you) NOTE IDEAS: Sending my biggest thank you to you! Once you sign up as a volunteer for our fundraiser team, you will be notified of all our fundraisers throughout the year. You will decide if you want to participate in each fundraiser; the Director of Volunteer Services, Yvonne, will send out all registration information and details! If you are participating in a fundraiser, we will explain what you will be doing to help increase our donations. You will often have to reach out to friends and family asking them if they'd like to donate or purchase a good where a % of profits goes to us. However, other fundraisers might only require sharing a post or message. Please email us with any questions that you have.
