Homeless Action Sonoma, Inc.(HAS) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization operating in Sonoma Valley dedicated to serving the homeless in this area. We need a few new board members to lead our organization to fulfill its important mission. We operate a small low barrier emergency shelter with 20 tiny homes at 18820 Hwy 12. Besides the 20 clients living at the Home & Safe Village, we serve over 90 homeless helping them with cell phones, EBT cards, MediCal, and physical/mental health. We enroll those that are eligible in our county system designed to help them with housing. We need board members with experience who can assist with grant writing and reporting, website and monthly newsletters, fundraising and marketing. We meet twice a month on Wednesdays from 4 to 6 pm. Much of our work is accomplished remotely via zoom or by phone and text. HAS is the only operating emergency shelter in the City of Sonoma community. Homeless Action Sonoma, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization serving the unhoused in the greater City of Sonoma community. We operate our Home & Safe Village in the Sonoma Valley. We need a few smiling faces to be a greeter at main congregating area during the day. The primary hours are from 10:00 to 5:00 weekdays and from 10:00 to 2:00 on Saturdays. You can choose which hours would work for you in conjection with other volunteers. You will ask visitors to sign in, let the Site Monitor know when they are needed, play board games or cards with onsite clients. You should be able bodied, calm and kind.

We operate a Home & Safe Village with the only emergency housing in our area along with wrap around services. We wish for a teacher, perhaps retired, who would like to help clients with reading and writing. You can advise your availability and we will match that with the person who needs your help. We have an urgent need for a volunteer with marketing skills including familiarity with Constant Contact and Facebook for monthly newsletters and frequent communications to our supports. Homeless Action Sonoma Inc (HAS) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization serving the unhoused in the greater City of Sonoma community. . We need at least two drivers who are willing to be on call to provide transportation in their own vehicle to take clients to a doctor's appointment, to the D.M.V. in Petaluma or Napa or any other appointment such as a court proceeding. Sometimes we don't have much advance notice. Please be available a couple of days a week or whatever fits your schedule.
