Looking to give back by feeding the residents of the Brisben Center? We are always looking for individuals and groups to plan, provide and serve breakfast, lunch or dinner for our residents. Meals are served on schedule: Breakfast: 8:00am Lunch: 12:00pm Dinner: 6:00pm Groups should arrive 90 minutes to 2 hours before their scheduled serving time. Important Information for Meal Program Volunteers: We prioritize groups that can purchase, prepare and serve meals with a focus on dinners. We do have product onsite that can be supplemented if coordinated with the kitchen manager. Children under 16 are not permitted to be in the kitchen unless it is to help serve. Anyone under 18 is not permitted to use grills, ovens or steamers. Children outside of the kitchen should still be supervised at all times. The meal should follow USDA guidelines and include a protein, grain, carb, dairy, fresh vegetables, and/or fruits. These can be combined, i.e Spaghetti with meat sauce is a grain/card and protein. Your groups menu should be provided to the Kitchen Manager one week prior to the group's scheduled serving time and day. Please call a week ahead to confirm the number of residents being fed. Volunteers may bring unprepared food for later use. Contact the Kitchen Manager for delivery and storage details. Please make sure to have a Point of Contact (Name, phone number, email) that can be reached to coordinate meals and confirmation of dates. Each group must have one. If there is a last minute shortage of group volunteers or a change/cancellations needs to be made, immediately notify the Kitchen Manager (540.899.9853 x 112) and the Control Desk.
