Please join our team. You will be blessed to offer companionship to our patients facing end of life issues. We have a program called " We Honor Vets" This is a program that provides veteran to veteran companionship. Another program is called," Angel Visits" The volunteer would sit with a patient that is dying, and has no local family. We have opportunities for administrative help in the office. Anyone who has special skills is also very welcome; such as message, pet, art, life journal, and music therapies. When you care for someone at the end of their life, you will be giving them and yourself a great gift!!

If you are compassionate, caring, loving, and have a calling to help others, becoming a Hospice volunteer might be the perfect opportunity for you! Our Volunteers give their time, talent and hearts generously and unselfishly, yet commonly feel that the receive more than they give. Some of our volunteers have experienced hospice care through a loved one. Others use their giving hearts to serve and touch a life in it's final chapter. Bereavement Volunteer: Bereavement Volunteers support families and friends of deceased patients. During the grieving process, the volunteer in an invaluable resource, especially for those who lack a solid support network. Ways to help include: Bereaved phone calls and/ or visits Bereavement mailings Assist with Remembrance Gathering events

The Vet-to-Vet Program aims to pair recruited Veteran Volunteers with hospice patients who have been identified as Veterans. Once paired, Veteran Volunteers have the unique ability to relate and connect with each patient thereby creating an environment where life review and healing may occur Volunteers can provide critical support, compassion and companionship to the Veterans. Many programs utilize volunteers who are Veterans themselves, and they create a special bond sharing their experiences in military service. Along with typical volunteer roles, such as participation in pinning ceremonies and providing support for families, programs like No Veteran Dies Alone and Veteran-to-Veteran provide innovative models for serving Veterans at the end of life. The "No Veteran Dies Alone" (NVDA) program is inspired by the program called "No One Dies Alone," and is designed to honor Veterans and to meet the needs of those Veterans who, for whatever reason, find themselves alone. Compassus offers many other opportunities all ranging from being patient related to non patient related opportunities.
