Description
Who is First Street Mission?
First Street Mission prides itself on exceeding expectations.
We continuously seek to develop innovative and flexible responses to emerging needs and city-wide gaps in services by capitalizing on our three foundational pillars: Our 50-year history providing relational, reliable services to communities in crisis from our location in downtown Fort Worth, our bedrock of committed volunteers, and our reputation for creative collaboration with community partners.
What is First Street’s impact in the community?
We may seem small, but we’re more than the sum of our parts... And we’re growing.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, First Street Mission’s ability to quickly pivot and respond to emerging community needs led the organization to become the largest food pantry in the city of Fort Worth. Now in 2023, as CARES funding evaporates and Fort Worth experiences an unprecedented increase in housing costs, unsheltered homelessness, and deaths caused by homelessness, we have once again shown flexibility and creativity, quickly launching a Street Outreach program designed to address these needs.
