Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide compassionate, holistic care to those who need a safe place to heal and are experiencing homelessness in the St. Louis region.

Description

Bridge of Hope has been serving the needs of displaced citizens of North St. Louis for the last 21 years by providing day shelter, showers, meals, clothing and literacy education to the residents of the historic Ville neighborhood. In 2020, under new leadership, Bridge of Hope developed The Bridge Program to support participants in not just managing their daily lives, but in achieving and sustaining health, housing and long-term stability. In 2022, leaders took another hard look at Bridge of Hope and the community it serves. They didn’t want people to just survive but to thrive! What was standing in the way? The answer lay with the systemic failure of multiple organizations to meet one critical need: health care, both immediate and follow-up. Therefore, Bridge of Hope will soon open a recuperative care center where individuals struggling with homelessness who need a safe place to recover following hospitalization or ED visit can experience help and healing. Besides shelter, meals, access to healthcare, and medication management, Bridge of Hope will offer assistance with overcoming the complicated systems that often serve as barriers to housing, jobs and better health. Faithful to its mission, Bridge of Hope continues to be a welcoming place for those who need healing and hope for a better tomorrow.
