We’re a non-profit, all volunteer community benefit organization registered with Salt Lake City. Our purpose is to enhance the overall quality of life in the Capitol Hill neighborhood and to help keep it safe, attractive, and welcoming for residents and businesses.

Capitol Hill Neighborhood Council
Our Neighborhood is Better Because of the CHNC and the People Who Volunteer
Who We Are
We’re a non-profit, all volunteer community benefit organization registered with Salt Lake City. Our purpose is to enhance the overall quality of life in the Capitol Hill neighborhood and to help keep it safe, attractive, and welcoming for residents and businesses.
What We Do
- Monthly meetings to discuss concerns and plan improvements
- Events and Projects (JamFest: Art, Music, Cultural Celebration, July 4th Breakfast, service projects, neighborhood improvement projects, etc.)
- Keep residents and businesses informed through email, website postings, and newsletters
- Work regularly with the city and state to improve the neighborhood
The Difference We’ve Made
- Worked with the city to calm traffic and increase pedestrian safety
- Fostered the creation of additional parks
- Promoted local businesses at events and newsletters
- Advocated for and improved neighborhood parks
- Helped to secure funding for the restoration of the historic Warm Springs building
- Helped to bring the Marmalade Library to our neighborhood
- Worked with UTA to improve public transit
