Mission Statement

The HFRCC is organized to create synergy in research, foster ethical and respectful academic-community partnerships, and develop innovative solutions to community defined issues.


The Healthy Flint Research Coordinating Center (HFRCC) was formed to support community in its role as an equitable leader in research. Additionally, this project, turned non-profit organization intended to 1) foster ethical, and respectful community-academic partnerships, 2) develop innovative solutions to community-defined issues, and 3) ensure that community remains at the forefront of community-based research. HFRCC, Inc. is a community-academic partnership comprised of four Cores. Three of those Cores represent the academic portion of the collaborative, which consists of representatives from University of Michigan- Flint, Michigan State University, and University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. Community Core is the fourth member of this partnership. As the community engagement arm of HFRCC, Inc., Community Core is tasked with informing, educating, and engaging community in research that amplifies its voice and highlights their contributions in shaping the research landscape in Flint.
