Are you in search of a fulfilling way to give back to your community? Becoming a hospice volunteer may be the fit for you. As a hospice volunteer, you’ll be be able to provide companionship and emotional support to patients and families through their most vulnerable times. Hospice volunteers do not need extensive medical knowledge but should have a strong set of interpersonal skills and time management. Volunteers should be compassionate, sensitive, dedicated, & self-aware. 18 years and older preferred. Hope Hospice is licensed to provide hospice services in the following ten (10) counties in the state of Illinois: Cook, Lake, McHenry, Winnebago, Kane, DuPage, DeKalb, Will, Boone and Ogle. Volunteers have the flexibility of servicing patients within their community preference. Patients are located within home and nursing home settings. Mandatory drug screen, physical exam, and TB test required. Must completed new hire onboarding. ***Volunteer experience is non-compensatory*** Training is provided.
